Standen Park

The refurbishment and redevelopment of this and other grade II listed buildings as part of a housing scheme including new build properties that were sympathetic to the listed buildings was a major undertaking for Gleeson Homes.

The dilapidated buildings required complete renovation and the whole site needed sensitive remodeling, under the guidance of local planning officers, in order to complete this high-profile project with sensitivity.

New buildings were added using timber-framed construction, combined with specially designed cast stone dressings and with our technical help and manufacturing expertise we cast various stone elements to match the existing masonry.

A wide range of colours were needed to complement the original, locally quarried masonry and complex moulds and sophisticated aggregate mixes were required to match ornate existing details. Half columns, porticos, quoins, window and door surrounds and a large quantity of "hand tooled" blocks were cast to exacting specifications to complete this impressive scheme.
