Cast Stone LCS manufactures cast stone in accordance with British Standards 1217 & 8110 using Portland cements, oxide pigments and blends of aggregates all complying to their relevant British Standards. The mix used is of a homogenous design giving the advantage of through colour and greater stability. Reinforcement Where required, units are reinforced either for handling or for load bearing applications. The reinforcement is either high tensile carbon steel or where specified or slender units are required stainless steel is utilised. Cast in Fittings It is our standard practice to cast lifting sockets into units as dictated by current C.D.M. regulations. Dowel connections using stainless steel dowels are placed between all component joints in the case of window surrounds and in applications where a more rigid joint is required. Items such as window jambs also have stainless steel dovetail slots cast into them so that stainless steel ties can be positioned and tied into the surrounding structure. In applications where heavy duty load bearing cast in fixings are required LCS can assist in the design and specification of these fixings. |
